The spontaneous combustion of coal in goaf areas is a significant natural disaster encountered during mining operations. To investigate the oxygen consumption characteristics different types, we conducted TG experiments and closed using seven samples exhibiting various degrees metamorphism. findings revealed following key observations: During oxidation process coal, absorbed heat originates from physical chemical adsorption oxygen. first exothermic peak on DSC curve represents maximum temperature volatile matter signifies initiation burning. Coal with higher ignition temperatures less prone to combustion. Analyzing thermogravimetric curves, observed that 15# 8+9# predominantly extracted Duanwang Mine are compared 4# seam (known for its susceptibility combustion) Jiudaoling Mine, Liaoning. This observation aligns their nonspontaneous characteristics. In experiment, determined volume attenuation coefficients main areas’ seams as 3.9001 × 10 − 4 id="M2"> 3.83559 , respectively.
